Designed by Vandana Saxena of Studio IV, Renaissance, Ahmedabad is part of the Marriott hotel chain, a brand with an avant-garde identity. Inspired by the history of the walled city, the Adalaj stepwells, and the Uttarayan kite festival, the hotel captures the vibrant spirit of Ahmedabad.

Hotels are complex beings with multiple services and spaces rolled into one. In a sense, a hotel covers all facets of space design, from lobbies, to cafés & restaurants, to living spaces, kitchens and back-of-house services. Alongside tackling the various spaces, the designer here also juxtaposes contrasting materials. A satin-finish grey brick wall stands confidently next to a chequered glass partition in hot pink. Panels textured in Royale Play Archi Concrete display hand-embroidered artworks.
